There are 582 million entrepreneurs in the world and  55% of them say their biggest motivation for starting their own business was the idea of being their own boss. While this is a good enough reason, the ultimate reason entrepreneurs start businesses is to make money. If you don’t agree with me on that point, then we need a serious talk.

Simple economics dictate that you need a service or product that can be provided at a reasonable price to a buying public. In order for the business to succeed, it needs to sell enough to make a profit. The number one reason why businesses fail is there’s no market need and 20% of businesses fail within their first year. 

Of those that make it, did you know that 62% of them don’t have any staff? And that two thirds of these are home based? 

Studies show middle-aged men start the most successful businesses. Almost half of people who start small businesses are between the ages of 41 and 56.

The Meet My Business podcast is aimed at the quarter of these entrepreneurs that turn to the internet for business-related advice.

Now imagine the person listening to it.

They are probably younger, under the age of 35. They have earbuds or headphones on while doing some kind of activity. They are freed from the screens but still have the ability to listen to something while they commute, wait in line, exercise, and so on.
